Manicure Monday #1

OOhHhhh is this a new series I hear you cry? Probably not, because I am super lazy when it comes to my nails. Or, I find one colour and wear it to death until I find a fault in it, just like everything else in my life. Wow, I'll stop being depressing. This polish is called Dark Blue which is part of the Colour Carnival range by Seventeen and retails for £1.99. I adore this range and I have so many colour from them that work well. They are super cheap and although a lot of them I've experienced don't have the best lasting time, they're great for the price you pay. Even if the name isn't the most inventive (Dark Blue, though, come on!) it is an accurate description of what it is lol.

Now, this is hands down my favourite shade I've tried in this range. In 2 coats, it's opaque and so shiny! I went away to a festival last weekend which involved a lot of hardcore drinking and dancing and it hardly chipped and that was without a topcoat. One of my friends who I went away with even asked if it was gel because of how great it looked. I think I've found my new favourite nail polish because this is definitely a winner. Usually, it'll last me at the very least, 3 days before it chips at all. I'm so bad at using a topcoat, I literally have like one and I always forget to use it so nail varnish never lasts well on me. This one, though, is great! If you've never tried the Colour Carnival range by Seventeen and was to give it a try, this colour is the one I'd recommend you start with. They are pretty inconsistent as a whole range when it comes to quality, but this one really hit the nail on the head (lol, puns). Don't forget to check out the CC range here as they're currently on 3 for a fiver.

Have you ever tried any of this range? P.S Super sorry for my gross fingers, I'm a biter.

Better Periods With Veeda

After having a rant about the Tampon Tax last week, I came on my period and I felt like that was just the universe's way of slapping me in the face and telling me to sit down. I got the face on for a good few minutes before I remembered that the lovely people from Veeda has sent me some of their products to try and talk about.

Veeda offers 100% cotton tampons which are free from chemicals, dyes and synthetic materials. This means that they are a lot more natural to your body. It also means that they are free from bleach and viscose rayon which is one of the primary sources of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). TSS scares me and after a really bad period once, I thought I had it and I was absolutely terrified. It's still a reality when using chemically made tampons as they aren't natural to put in your body and there has never been a case of TSS from using 100% cotton tampons. Veeda also strives to make their products environmentally friendly and the packaging on the tampons and pads all break down fairly quickly.

I'll be honest and say that I have tried these out and without going into bloody detail, they were very comfortable and long lasting. I don't usually wear pads, but for the sake of testing out the products, I used them for at night as I sometimes worry about wearing tampons for longer than around 6 hours. They were a perfect size and weirdly enough, super soft. They were quite big and kind of felt bulky around my butt, but I think this was because I'm just not used to wearing sanitary towels. I will also say that I found like, no odour at all. I say this because some people hate the smell of sanitary towels, but that is due to the amount of chemicals and bleaches used in regular towels and because these were 100% natural, they were very clean smelling. I much prefer non-applicator tampons, although I know some people don't, and I found these really easy to use. They do offer applicator tampons and use plastic, but this has also been modified to be more environmentally friendly. They were super easy to put in my bag and discreet enough that I didn't have to make a big show about hiding my tampon and taking it to the toilet while I was at work.

I can honestly and freely say that these did make my period better. I often feel like my insides are ripping out when I'm on my period and because of how comfortable these were, they took a little bit of stress out of my period. The great thing about Veeda is that they are also affordable, the tampons seen here are £1.85 for 16 and the sanitary towels are £1.98 for 14. Obviously, my stance on the Tampon Tax still counts & if you haven't seen my rant yet, check it out here. But, looking at Veeda and actually feeling the difference in natural products has made me definitely change my outcome on what I use while I'm on my period.

Have you guys ever used natural products like this whilst on your period? Or would you like to? You can check out the Veeda website here

Some InstaNatural Goodies...

I get quite a lot of InstaNatural stuff sent to me and although I love the majority of it, I don't really put it on my blog. I thought I'd share this recent batch with you guys to let you know what I think of them. Some of my favourite products I'm using are from InstaNatural and I trust the company & think that the more natural stuff I can use on my skin, the better. I was sent the Dead Sea Mud Mask, the Youth Express Eye Gel and the Skin Clearing Spot Treatment.

The first thing I tried was the Youth Express Eye Gel which is priced at £13.99 and quite reasonable in my opinion. This eye gel is meant to help wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles with anti-aging properties. Now, I'm 20 and so I don't really need anti-aging stuff yet. But, as my mum always tells me, you can never start too early caring for your skin & the skin around your eye is especially prone to wrinkling. As well as being an eye gel they also state that you can put this all over your face to make it appear radiant.

Now I've tried this under my eyes and all over my face and I don't know about making me radiant, but I definitely enjoy the product. It has a nice smell which isn't too overpowering and honestly makes my face feel so refreshed. This is the best eye gel I've used in a while and I would really recommend this one. Although it might seem pricey to some, it is definitely worth the price if you suffer from dark circles or dull skin. One complaint I have is the packaging, it's not very elegant. But, I think InstaNatural's main goal is to make skin care for everyone and so packaging like this is great for being unisex and quite masculine so your partner won't be embarrassed to have this on his shelf in the bathroom.

The Dead Sea Mud Mask £21.95 might seem expensive to some people, but for the size of it I see it as reasonably priced. This is a massive tub that will easily last you a while, I've used it 3 times now and barely made a dent in it. This mud mask aims to detoxify your skin and aims to clear blemishes and improve tired skin. They also suggest using it as an all over body mask to improve skin's appearance and to help clear impurities.

The consistency of this mask surprised me because I expected it to be like a clay mask and although it is the same colour of a clay mask, it's quite the opposite in texture. It has a jelly-like consistency and very smooth and easy to put on. I always worry about clay/mud masks as they usually dry my skin out, but this made my skin feel refreshed and smooth rather than stripped of its moisture. It dries similar to a mud mask, with it going hard and flaky. I am actually really happy with this mask and it's great while being easy and quick to use for a midweek facial.

The Skin Clearing Spot Treatment is £17.95 and way overpriced for what it is, in my opinion. It is essentially an alcohol treatment that smells quite lovely and is designed to dry out spots and help clear them. The suggested use is to put a bit on a cotton swab and dab it on the spot. I've had treatments like this before and I've used alcohol before, they all have a similar effect. For £17.95 this doesn't wow me enough and didn't really clear up any blemishes I had. It simply made the area dry and stung a bit. If you have oily and spot prone skin, this may work better for you, it just didn't do it for me at all.

I really like the products I get sent from InstaNatural and I do think that their hair products are really great. All of their products are made as naturally as possible and actually work. Although some don't work for me, they will work better for other people. You can check out the InstaNatural website here to see what other goodies they have. Have you used InstaNatural before?

Christmas Society 6 Gift Guide

As I mentioned in my last Christmas post, some people are ridiculously hard to buy for. I have some members of the family who writes a list and you can just pick something off there, but then others are just one of those annoying people who go "I don't know, whatever" like, come on! Give me a hint or something. Society 6 is great, you guys know how much I love it. It's a great platform for artists to showcase their work, but also for me to get some unique gifts for family and friends.

Society 6 sell a range of products for a range of people and currently have a fair few gift guides on their site that help aim at different people in your life. This Crazy Cat Lady Mug ($15) made me giggle and I could definitely think of a few people in my life that need this mug because they definitely don't need any more cats. For the other cat people in your life, that might not be hot beverage drinkers, the Anonymous Meow Print ($19.95) is so cute and I want it for myself! It adds an elegant but humorous touch and would be perfect for people who might have just moved house, or are partial to a classy print or two. I have a lot of people in my life that love their technology and are forever on their laptops, so this Pug Laptop Sleeve ($36) is a perfect gift for them. Not only is it adorable, it's also practical too as it gives them somewhere safe to store their laptop. The Tangled Laptop Skin ($20) can also be purchased for a tablet and is so pretty, I actually have this print in a throw pillow but I could see myself getting this print for my mum because she's never off her tablet and Tangled is her favourite Disney film. This Otter Throw Pillow ($20) is literally the cutest thing! I am a huge throw pillow fan and cute throw pillows are such a bonus. This would also again be great for people who have just moved out, especially if it fits their colour scheme.

My mum loves wine and she equally loves getting those daft tin sayings and putting them all over the house, you know the ones that stay stuff like "I cook with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food" and so this Framed Wine Print ($34) is a little bit more classy and would be perfect for her. If you have another wine lover in your life this Wine O'clock Phone Case ($35) is another great gift, especially if their excuse is always "It's 5 o'clock somewhere!" I am a huge Harry Potter fan and if anyone buys me an HP gift, I get all happy because I know they have thought of me and my interests and so this HP Travel Mug ($24) is ideal for those type of people in your life & also a great thought for those in your life that love a good coffee in a morning, but might not have the time to enjoy it before work. Last, but definitely not least is this French Bulldog Tote ($22) which is bloody adorable (I know I am saying adorable so much, but I'm not wrong am I?!) and is perfect for the frequent shoppers in your life, especially those tight buggers in your life that refuse to pay 5p for a bag. Totes are great now and this one is a stylish way to pack your groceries.

These are just a couple of ideas that I got from browsing Society 6 and I'm definitely going to be picking some out for those tricky individuals in my life who are difficult to buy for. What was your favourite thing on the list?

Christmas Stocking Filler Idea

I love pop-up shops, Christmas markets, discovering independent little shops and supporting small businesses. They also make for unique and interesting Christmas ideas and stocking fillers because they offer creative ideas and things that will suit every type. Sam, my lovely other half, is a plumber and likes cars so I find it hard to get him presents. He's not bothered about skincare, has already too many clothes and isn't bothered about tech stuff. So, I sometimes find Christmas guides and present guides aren't that great for him (my dad is also the same).

When I was in Meadowhall the other day I saw a little pop-up stall called The Amazing Chocolate Workshop. TACW sell chocolate in the shape of various objects like tools, screws, taps and other things that are great for tradesmen or men who are like tools. It was also really cool that the nuts and screws actually screwed together and Sam was mesmerised about that before stuffing it in his mouth. Another great thing about this little stall is that the majority of the chocolate they sell is dairy free, meaning that it is suitable for vegans. It is dark, which was a bonus because Sam's favourite chocolate is dark and I think I remember the lady saying it was 70%. I'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate, but this was really nice and not too bitter. The things that they sell, like lightbulbs and salami, aren't dark chocolate and so contain dairy. It wasn't cheap, but I managed to get three fair size pieces for £20, including the gift box.

I gave it him for our anniversary (last week) and it's already all gone. He did let me have a bit and it was really nice. The lady who served me says it lasts around 6 months, which is great for those who only like chocolate occasionally or are one of those people that like to look at pretty food and don't like to eat it. Overall, I think this is a great little stocking filler idea and their website showcases the different things they do. So, if you have a tricky man or woman in your life that you want to buy for, I'd suggest this. They have things for tradesmen, artists, food enthusiasts, crafty people, the works. It's a really versatile and fun little gift & I think it's great to support small businesses. I'd seriously suggest checking out their website here and their Facebook to see if they are popping up anywhere near you soon.

Do you have anyone in your life that is tricky to buy for?

StyleLux Blackhead Killer Review

After seeing this face mask do the rounds on Instagram, Facebook, blogs, everywhere that it can go, I had to try it for myself. So when I was offered the chance to try the Blackhead Killer Mask from StyleLux I took the chance, a step closer to winning the battle between my face and the stubborn blackheads that inhabit it.

In a pack, you get 5 little sachets, although I only pictured 4 because one was drying on my face while I snapped away. The sachets do not hold a lot of product at all, but it was enough to lightly cover my whole face. I don't really have blackheads all over my face, mainly on my t-zone, nose and chin area. I was hoping to get enough to put a thick layer and if I used this again I would definitely just put it on my problem areas. I say "if I use this again" because I don't think I dare. This stuff absolutely kills.

After around 10 minutes, it dries on your face and starts to lift slightly around the edges so that you have an area to start with. My god, it took me another 10 minutes to take this bad boy off because my skin was screaming at me to stop. I've seen other blogs say this is mildly painful, but they must've been on crack cause this sucker was firmly stuck to my face and it did not want to come off. It attaches itself like a squid and will not give up easily. My eyes watered the whole time pulling this off and any baby hairs that I had on my face are now waxed off in a slow and torturous way.

I've never used a face mask this painful and I really don't see why I would again. Sure it was fun to see all the gunk that came off with it, but I'd honestly rather just stick to nose strips. Sam walked into my bedroom when I was taking it off and went "why have you put nail polish on your face?" I don't know Sam, why have I put nail polish on my face? Would I recommend it? Honestly, if you have quite big pores, this would do a good job of getting all that gunk out & it's meant to be good for oily skin which is the opposite of what I have and might be the reason it didn't work so well for me. If you have facial hair, avoid at all costs. I want to give you my honest opinion here and say that I don't really get the hype, but I could see how this would be beneficial to those who suffer from blackheads. If you would like to check the Blackhead Killers they are priced at £14.95. I'd suggest going over to the site and reading some of the reviews because there are a lot of people who reap the benefits and are obviously less of a sissy pants than me.

Have you ever used anything like this before?

The Tampon Tax & Why It's Complete Bull

I’ve seen a lot lately in the news, social media, blogs around the subject of tampon tax and it’s something that I feel quite passionately about. For those who don’t know, in the UK tampons and sanitary towels are taxed as “luxury items” and so have more of a tax than other things such as jaffa cakes. Yes, stupid things such as sweets aren’t taxed as luxury items, but things that make women feel cleaner during a difficult time, are.

Not only is the tampon tax utterly bullshit, the fact that men in parliament couldn’t even bring themselves to say the word tampon shows how overrun by men our government is. They can’t see how difficult a time some women have when they are on their period and how putting a luxury tax on them is disgusting. A woman on a normal cycle will spend a lot on sanitary products over her lifetime. A woman with a normal flow, who’s on their period for around 3-5 days will spend around £10,000 on tampons or sanitary towels in their lifetime. That’s not counting the unfortunate women who have irregular or non stop bleeding, or the women who have just had babies and have to wear sanitary towels on a regular basis.

(accurate representation of MP's when it comes to periods)

What the government won’t see is the women who are in constant pain because they haven’t got a regular period and so their cramps are excruciating and this can lead them to have days off work or school. What the government won’t see are the homeless women who search high and low for something to get through the horrible time of bleeding while living on the streets. What the government refuse to acknowledge is the fact that women suffer and I know, personally that I’ve struggled to buy tampons before. It gets to that time of the month and I’m skint. I’m already in my overdraft and I don’t even have money to get to work, nevermind spend up to £3 so that I don’t gross out the men in my office or that I can feel clean and secure when all I really want to do is curl up into a ball and cry. What I fail to understand is how men, with wives and daughters and mothers, can see tampons as luxury and question why we would want the luxury tax removed. Have these MP’s that refuse to say the word “tampon” ever seen their daughter cry because her uterus feels like it’s going to explode? Or sob because she’s leaked out of her tampon while you were shopping and she’s embarrassed that people can see the blood on her jeans? Or your wife that has snapped at you, demanded chocolate and cried at the silliest things because her hormones are all over the place?

Not only is the tampon tax irrelevant and disgusting, it’s highlighting a time that women would much rather pass quickly. No woman wants periods. They don’t want the hassle, basically and men have it a lot easier. That might seem sexist, but they do. I will do anything to make my period easier and having safe, natural products that are reasonably priced makes me feel better. I have been having my period now for 10 years (only 20, yay for starting early) and so I know what my body wants when I’m on my period. I know that it wants chocolate and a hot water bottle and for my hair to be stroked. I also know that without the use of the contraception pill, I would be in absolutely agony every month. When I first started my period I used to have to have days off school because I used to be doubled over in pain and cry because I didn’t know what was happening. I would force myself to go to sleep to get rid of the pain and for a 11 year old girl, I got pretty used to painkillers way too quickly. I know if my dad was in parliament, or my brother or boyfriend they’d understand what women go through. They’d be able to say the word tampon because they know what I go through and I have it easy. They’d understand that I have to ask my boyfriend to pick some up for me because I’m too uncomfortable to leave the house. They’d think it was ridiculous that something that keeps my sheets clean, me sanitized and comfortable, could never be seen as luxury. Especially when everything that they have as a luxury, isn’t taxed that way.

At the end of the day, tampons and sanitary towels are a necessity for women and should be priced that way. They should be safe, clean and easy to get hold of for everyone. No woman is demanding they be free, although I feel they should be for some. They just want them to be recognised as a way we get by.

What are your opinions on the tampon tax? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

November Melt Crowd

The November edition of The Melt Crowd is a good one and as always, I'm very impressed with the box. They have definitely developed more of a theme as they establish the box, which is better in my opinion and this one focuses on Christmas-y scents that make your home feel cosy and festive. However, to say it's November, I expected more scents that are spice based and festive. In this box, there are three A/W scents that are obvious, whereas the other ones are more everyday scents. Now, I'm not complaining about this because I like every single scent in the box, which is new for me and I can see me using all of them and not giving any away.

In this box we have:

Violet & Lime: A lovely fruity/floral scent that smells like a parma violet cocktail. Mmm, somebody please make that?

Warm Vanilla Sugar: Oh my gosh, this is the picture of a winter night in watching a film all cuddled up with some hot chocolate. It's sweet, warm and perfect.

Parma Violets: This will be forever be one of my favourite candle scents. I love the sweets and I love the scent.

Blackcurrant Jam: This one is an autumny scent to me and you can really smell the berries in it. This one didn't have a powerful scent throw but it did make the room smell faintly like blackcurrant boiled sweets.

Bah! Humbug: If you melted down a humbug sweet, it would be this. It's very minty and sweet, exactly like the boiled sweet. It's lovely & although I don't associate humbugs with winter, I think it's a great idea.

Blackberry & Bay Leaf: This is fruity and herbal and I'm very impressed with it. The initial impression is very fruity and it takes a couple of sniffs, lol, to get the bay leaf through. I find this one quite enjoyable and it's not so overly fruity that my boyfriend will complain when I burn it in his room.

Darjeeling Tea: I'll be honest and say I have no idea what this tea is and what it's supposed to smell like so I have no real life representation of the smell. However, this one is pleasant and quite a neutral scent. If you like scents like cotton, fresh towels or fresh linen, you'll be a fan of this.

Christmas Tree-O: Mmm this one is very festive & smells like spicy mulled wine around a bonfire. It's not exactly what I envisage from a bright pink wax melt but it's lovely none the less.

This box was very A/W based and so I'm very excited for next months box to be full of Christmas scents and goodies. At the moment, Flamingo Candles have their Christmas stock out and I'm going to take advantage of my 20% discount that you get with a Melt Crowd box. I love these wax melts and they're such good quality. Getting 8 in a box really does keep you stocked for the whole month and I still have some from last month because the scent throw is that good that I can keep reburning them without the scent running out.

If you're interested in getting The Melt Crowd, it's available for £10 a month here. What's your favourite A/W scent?

Diary Entry: 1 year anniversary

I have reached my 1 year anniversary with Sam & I’m honestly a little shocked and surprised. Before Sam, I had never had a proper relationship and loved single life and being young and free. I would go out every weekend, kiss some strangers, then spend the next day at work dying with a hangover. I loved that life, my unhealthy, horrible life. I didn’t think I needed anything else or a boyfriend and was happy spending time with my friends and family and generally being a lazy girl who worked in a pet shop.

I met Sam on Tinder. There, it’s out there. I never thought I’d use Tinder for anything other than passing the time on a boring Sunday night. It’s a funny app if you’re single and the sorts you get on there a funny and also, disgusting. I never planned on meeting anyone from it because stranger danger (when sober) was strong. I literally only ever met blokes when I’d had one too many vodkas and so the idea of going on a real, proper grown up date was terrifying. I was 19 at the time and you’d think by 19 I’d have been on a proper date, but nope.

So, Sam was adorable and very eager to meet and so we met and had a great first date (drinks, cinema, you get the drift) and he paid for everything like the real gentleman he is. He still moans to this day that it was the most expensive first date he’d ever been on. Even after the first date I was still considering myself single and ahem, still loving single life. But, the more times I saw him, the more I realised I was ready to swap triple vodkas for hot chocolate on the settee. Plus, it was getting wintery and I needed someone to cuddle when it was cold.

I think the first time I realised I was properly smitten was on Christmas Eve when we spent it with his family and I really wanted to keep spending the night together rather than go and meet my friends and get hammered. I wanted to cuddle him and go into Christmas together and just be proper cute together.

Being in a relationship for a year is weird because we’ve got over the honeymoon stage, but I still have real moments when I look at him and feel all warm inside because I love the crap out of him. He does everything he can for me, wines and dines me, buys me presents and spends time with my family. He gets annoyed when my dogs slaver on him, but then can cope with my nan when she's had a few too many brandies and is talking about us having babies (eek, not yet!!).

He encouraged me to follow my plan and take the plunge to scrap my well-paying job for a shit paying apprentice. He encourages me when I moan about being skint and when I moan about my family. He cuddles me when I’m sad and doesn’t judge me when I have chocolate even though I’m on a diet. He moans that I’m a feeder and that I’m fattening him up so no one else will have him. He spends all week on his car and doesn’t see me for hours on end, but sends his friends away so we can spend an hour before bed catching up and watching one of our series together. He calls me a nerd and takes me to nerdy places, even if he doesn’t like it. He wants me to get involved in his hobbies and wants to be involved in mine. He makes me a better person and I’m so grateful to have found him.

Although he riles me up and makes me want to pull my hair out in frustration sometimes, he does his very best to not hurt me. Being in a relationship for a year makes me look back on being single and scoff at how much of an idiot I was.  Although I wouldn’t change the memories I’ve made with my friends, I’m so glad I managed to grow up and be an adult (lol).

The future kind of scares me. I’m only 20 and so not ready to get married and have kids (but, woohoo for those who are!) and the idea of having to pay bills in my own home, living with a boy, is literally like an “oh shit, fuck, balls” moment. Then the next moment I’ll be daydreaming of how I’ll decorate when we move in together. I’m in a transitional place in my life and I have a lot going on in the next few months. I see my Samuel and I sticking together for as long as he’ll have me (gag). Happy 1 year to me being a proper adult in a proper adult relationship!

Another Tk Maxx Haul

So it was payday, it was a quiet afternoon and I decided to go to Tk Maxx and spoil myself. I did also buy a long shirt/dress thing that was very gothic and Halloween-appropriate, but I spilt mayo on it and so it's not here to be pictured. Hold back your blogger awards people. Thanks. The new Tk Maxx near me is literally a treasure trove and their homeware stuff is amazing.

The first thing I picked up was this sturdy Everything Starts With A Dream Notepad for £4.99 which is more than I'd usually pay for a notepad, but this was so pretty and quite inspirational. I don't know if I have a dream, but this is a perfect little notepad to jot down blogging ideas. It will also be perfect for using in the backdrop of blogging photos because we all know I'm so amazingly good at taking blog photos *rolls eyes*

As it's getting colder, I am drinking more and more hot chocolate. One of my favourite hot chocolates is the Options mint hot chocolate, but when that's not on hand I could easily stick one of these Mint Marshmallow Melts which were £2.69. I thought these were adorable and would be perfect for a Friday night treat. You make your hot chocolate, stick one of these on top and they will melt to make a nice frothy, mint mixture.

How pretty is this Green Feather Glass which was £3.99. I think this is so beautiful and I gave it to my mum as a little treat because she loves having pretty glasses to have a cheeky glass of wine in. This reflects the light so nicely and makes wine drinking an elegant affair.

Lastly, I picked up this Raspberry & Tomato Candle which was only £6.99 and it's massive! What's a Tk Maxx haul without getting a candle, right? This one was part of a range and I wanted to get them all, but I restrained myself and got just this one. It's so unusual but oh so good! The raspberry scent is very fresh and real, not a synthetic raspberry smell at all. I haven't burned this yet, but I'm so excited to! They had Grapefruit & Cilantro and also Coconut Milk & Mango. They all smelt so nice & I'm definitely going back to pick up the Grapefruit & Cilantro one.

That's all I picked up from Tk Maxx this time but my god I'm obsessed with this place. They have so much good stuff and I can see myself nipping back in there to get some Christmas stuff later on in the year. The men's section is also awesome and I can see myself picking up a few shirts for family members because they always seem to stock really good brands, like Ted Baker and Ralph Lauren. Ahh, I'm going to go sniff that candle some more because it is such a heavenly scent!!

Yet another new header...

Hello there! So, for you lovely folks who have noticed, I've changed my header to a much fancier and a much blogger appropriate watercolour-y one. I really wasn't happy with my old one because it just looked a bit crap, so I decided to spend a lil' bit longer making this one (yes I made it!).

So, if you would like to know how I made it...

I downloaded the font Autumn Chant from dafont.com which was made by Roland Huse and is a free font for personal use. If you wanted it for commercial use then you would have to pay! I then googled "free watercolour flowers" and came across a lovely site called The Smell Of Roses which offers free clipart for personal use. I think it's so lovely when people put a lot of effort into watercolour painting and then let it be used for free. So, definitely check out the amazing clip art on this website!

I then fiddled about after downloading the flowers to create my new header. It didn't actually take that long and I'm pretty chuffed with it to say I made it myself on PicMonkey (no photoshop needed omg). It really is easy to do.

So that's how I made it! I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if you can't afford to fork out on having a custom one made. I'm a lot happier with the look of this one compared to my old one. Now, I can't wait to make a little badgey thing for my blog. Yay me!

Autumn Lush Haul

I went into the new Lush store in Meadowhall the other day and nearly squealed with joy because it is a lot better than the old store! Although, I always wonder why Lush stores are never big enough! So, I very nearly got carried away and just limited myself to things I've never tried before. If you didn't know, I've only really just got into Lush and so there is a lot I haven't tried.

I know this is a Halloween bath bomb and it's now November so I apologise. But, I had to get it because I've heard it turns your bath red and I really want to look like I'm swimming in blood (Lol, scared?). This is very herby and not at all like what I usually go for. It uses patchouli oil, black pepper and vanilla, although I couldn't really smell the vanilla.

This smells exactly like the Snow Fairy shower gel or something near to it. It's very very sweet and I love that, although some may find it too sweet. I think for £2 these are great and perfect for winter when our skin gets drier. This one uses marshmallow powder, coconut oil and almond to leave your skin silky smooth, you can also use this on your hair to give that an extra boost too. I can't wait to use this!

One of my first posts on this blog was the review of Squeaky Green here and I've recently only just finished that bar! I was so impressed with the lasting power and the ability of the other bar I've used that I had to get another. This one smells lovely and lemony and is meant to leave your hair shiny and refreshed. I can't stop smelling this one and apparently Chester couldn't either and had to stick his nose into the shot!

Rose Jam Bubbleroon £3.75
I've seen this around the blogosphere quite often and was eager to try it! I love Lush bubble bars and this one is no different, except for its adorable shape. This has a lot of moisturising ingredients in it; rose oil, geranium oil, lemon oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. I love that it's moisturising because my skin is definitely on the drier side at the moment!

This was an entertaining haul to picture. Chester would not leave me alone, so he clearly thought everything smelt as yummy as I did! I can safely say that I'm a new addict to Lush and can't wait to try more products. What's your favourite Lush product that you'd recommend?

November Goals

Where the frick frack has this bloody year gone. November is here and suddenly I feel excited about Christmas because I love love LOVE buying presents and getting them wrapped and planning how I’m going to decorate. Yeah shush, I'm talking about Christmas. But, before I wish away the rest of the year, I want to set myself goals to make November as productive as possible!

Cook at home more
My god, I love cooking. November is the start of the weather going downhill and getting colder and so making tea at home becomes more fun as you can cook warm food that you can cosy up on the settee with or that warms your whole body while you gossip over the dinner table. I think sometimes I get caught up with time and getting so much done, so cooking at home and talking to your family over tea is always needed.

Make lunch rather than buy it
I am so bad for buying loaves of brown bread and brown pasta with the plan to make my lunch for the week and make it healthy, then after tea decide I can’t be arsed and I’ll just pick up a meal deal the next day. Not only are these high in calories and fat and other bad stuff, they rack up over the month. Let’s say I have 10 meal deals, that’s £30 I didn’t need to spend on lunch and what most definitely could go on better things. It’s just pure laziness that I don’t make my lunch and so I’m determined to make a pack up every day! (It’s day 1 and I’m doing well so far)

Start Christmas shopping
Ok, so technically I started Christmas shopping in October, but I only bought one present. I want to be organised this year and get the bulk done in November, so that when December comes I have the funds to pick up presents for people when I see them. I am not usually organised and I’m definitely one of those people frantically running around the shops on Christmas Eve. The problem with starting early is that no bugger knows what they want yet so getting them to tell you what they want is like pulling teeth.

Deal with my car
Urghh!!! I hate dealing with my car and all the motory things that come with it. The MOT is due sometime and I need to get it sorted so that I don’t get another letter from the scary people at the car place (?!). The bonus of having a boyfriend that is scarily obsessed with cars is that I can just go “SAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM plz do my car” and then sit and watch Netflix while he gets all greasy.

Do I even bother with the gym?
I am starting to loathe the gym, I don’t like it and I seem to much prefer to do my exercise in the comfort of my own home. I am going to make a pact to myself to at least do 20 minutes of something, be it star jumps or dancing around the room naked, I don’t care what. I just need to get my sweat on so that I don’t feel utterly guilty the whole of December for the Christmas weight I will definitely put on.

Get ready for the arrival of my niece
I am going to be an auntie for the first time and although she is due in December, her mum is huge and weighing in at almost four weeks more than she is. So, I am very excited and nervous for my brother and want to be the best auntie ever! Although babies do make me both a little nervous and a little ill. But, best aunt ever right?!

That’s it for my November goals. November is an odd month but is going to be very busy for me so I need to get my ass motivated. What are your goals for the month?
